Area Description : In former times Springfort Hall Hotel Cork was known as Baltydaniel, Baltydaniel means the Town of the House of O Donnell. It is not known how it got this name. Springfort Hall got its name from a stream, which flows south of the House. This stream rises in a spring in the old fort at Pencil Hill. Lewis, in 1029 mentions that triple X was mined in the Land of Baltydaniel (Springfort Hall).
3 of us stayed one night here and had a full evening meal. Overall a positive experience- the Website photos are more impressive than the reality. On the positive the staff were extremely friendly and we felt very welcome. This includes reception, bar & restaurant. The food was lovely. Beds were very comfortable and rooms are of generous size. The decor is a bit tired & shabby in main parts and some parts could do with a spruce up. The housekeeping could be better through out the hotel, quiet a lot of dust around. The plates were hot for the service of breakfast and there were no trays or napkins around to help you carry them. The layout of breakfast buffet is quiet awkward, but a good choice of quality food on offer. - I would stay again, but not really a luxurious option. Room Tip: no real insight into this - our rooms were large - number 16 - twin room and number 17 a double.
It was great- above our expectations.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Springfort Hall. Totally relaxed. Bedroom clean and comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful.
