Hotel ,staff and food were lovely. The staff are very welcoming. We were disappointed that the sauna and steam room were only available if you booked a treatment. It didn't state this on the page when we booked. Overall it is a lovely hotel.

The hotel is nice and big,the food at the bar was lovely and the breakfast was nice too. But when it comes in to the room, the dust on the table,I wasn't happy at all,I was very disappointed what kind of room we got. On my reservation was double room, but I got double room which was connected to other room with lock door,at the reception they never mentioned that my room will be like that. When the night came, the person behind the locked door was too loud watching TV, in the morning up early and talking on the phone. So i had no rest at all. In the morning took shower, and took a towel,I was shocked, the towel was stained. So I suppose to get a treat for my self, but it wasn't at all. I did complaint to the reception, got bit of refund, but In my opinion I should get full refund,it was a nightmare. If I need to come back to the hotel,I will only for the food, but not for the night sleep.

Catherine scored 3 / 5 on 24/05/2022

The receptionist Sharon was pleasant and efficient. Our room wasn't ready so we had coffee in the lobby which was lovely and comfortable and relaxing lovely piona music was being played . Was disappointed that a 4 star hotel didn't have a swimming pool . The room was lovely ,however the music from either a function or the bar was desperately loud and went on for hours with a continuous boom boom through the windows. Breakfast was busy but efficient and tasty.

This hotel was fabulous and great value for money! Felt very safe and all covid19 regulations were clearly adhered to. Breakfast was also lovely and all the staff were friendly.

Adrian scored 5 / 5 on 01/10/2019

This is a Grade A, 4**** Hotel. Staff are courteous, professional and efficient and that goes for all staff that we met. Breakfast is a delight with a good variety of food, including nuts and seeds. Cooked breakfast is freshly cooked and delicious. Beds are very comfortable. An evening meal in the bar was not to our satisfaction, but this was the only downside to our stay. A swimming pool would be welcome, but this would not stop us from staying in this hotel in the future. Apart from the meal in the bar, we enjoyed our stay.

Recently Booked a one night break at the rose hotel Tralee through Bargain breaks and wish to say that from booking through to departing the hotel everything was perfect. In no way could our stay be improved upon. Very thankful to both bargain breaks and hotel staff for a hassle free stay and delicious food.

Really enjoyed our stay here. I stayed here years ago when it was called Fel's Point. I have to say this hotel is stunning, the lobby, the rooms, restaurant and bar are exceptional. The atmosphere is nice, most receptionist bar the one were lovely and greeted us every morning which was nice. Our room was quite large and comfortable. We had dinner both nights in the restaurant, the staff couldn't have being any nicer and great standard of service. Food was lovely. Restaurant is however very fancy so beware of this as I felt under dressed the first night. The location of hotel is good, it is in walking distance to the town but you can also take the car, there is a few parking areas we used the one opposite Brandon Hotel which have good rates for parking. I would stay here again :-)

had a pleasant 3 night stay recently at the rose hotel 2 adults and 2 kids - room had double and two singles and was big enough to meet our needs room was not too hot or too cold as it had ac which could be altered by occupants - a bonus was a small fridge - bathroom compact but met our needs room quiet food in restaurant was enjoyable, i want to compliment restaurant managers in particular very friendly and pleasant to us - thank you - kids meals were extra but breakfast menu had more options than most 4 star hotel hotel was busy but did not impact negatively on our stay parking free on site under and over ground value - was satisfied with the value offered and if we get similar value in future we will visit again - tks to all staff at the rose

Jj72 scored 4 / 5 on 01/11/2017

Absolutely stunning hotel, staff are very accommodating and friendly especially Peter who looked after us in the restaurant / bar. The only downside is the layout of the bar, when the restaurant is busy , the bar is used as an overflow room for food. It's not ideal when people are queing up to get in. Also, during this busy period that we stayed, we noticed the food was largely reheated and slightly dry. Over the years the food quality has declined slightly.

Reviewer14858587 scored 5 / 5 on 01/11/2017

we recently booked a stay at the hotel for my wife and 2 kids which involved us staying in a family room, our first impression was from 2 very welcoming staff at the front of house who wee very professional and welcoming, we checked in quickly and promptly and were shown to our room which was comfortable in all aspects of quality comfort and size, we were shortly after arriving at our room rang to see if we would like to move to a bigger room which we kindly declined as ours were ample for our needs. after shopping around tralee we came back to the hotel and eat in the main bar while our kids were well looked after by the staff for a movie night which allowed us to eat in yhe main bar. the food was nice and the service was brilliant in what can only be described as extremley busy. we stayed and woke up to a lovely breakfast with plenty of choice for all tastes and checked out with the minimum of fuss and would thoroughly recommend thos hotel amd its amenities neil

My friend and I enjoyed a lovely stay at the Rose Hotel. Very good breakfast and evening meal. A great location, only a short walk to the town centre taking the Rose Walk through the park. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Tralee is a very central location to travel out from to see the many beautiful sights of Kerry.

Owen scored 5 / 5 on 05/10/2017

Had a great stay at the Rose hotel. Staff were super friendly. And the trip was great value - there were no incidental or unexpected charges.

Beverly scored 4 / 5 on 05/09/2017

We had a great stay in this hotel. We had a family room which was lovely and spacious for our two boys. The food in the hotel bar was lovely, though menu is a little limited. They have a very good kids menu and supply colouring sheets and crayons. Free WiFi in the hotel is a great advantage. My only small issue was with breakfast on the second morning. They seemed under staffed and we waited an hour to get toast! Also the buffet was nearly empty and wasn't being refilled. Outside of that, we had a great time. The location is ideal for walking into town or heading to the Aquadome.

Eleanor scored 5 / 5 on 26/04/2017

My mother and myself stayed in the Rose Hotel on the weekend of hte 21/22nd May. We had previously stayed when it was Fells Point and I would admit to a little trepidation as I did not enjoy that experience BUT what a fab hotel. The warmth of the welcome on Friday evening the banter with bar staff in Dotts Bar notwithstanding the fact hat they were catering for weddings, the dining room staff from start to finish If you are a Coeliac like me then look no further - a true dining experience. the bedrooms are large and airy and the facilities superb. I have given an excellent score on all fronts because to be honest it was that and more would not hesitate to recommend the Rose Hotel.

Bernie scored 5 / 5 on 23/03/2017

Overall very positive experience. We had a two night stay from the 15th - 17th of March.Staff were very courteous friendly, and professional. The hotel is very well located and was an ideal base for us as we were attending a wedding in Tralee. The Rose Hotel offers very good accommodation at keen prices. The restaurant offers great quality food in a spacious welcoming atmosphere. We had one issue which we brought to the attention of the staff at reception and they showed genuine concern and interest in resolving the matter.Look forward to returning to this hotel in the future

My wife and I had a very enjoyable stay in the Rose Hotel. While this was not our first time staying at this hotel it was our first stay since the hotel changed its name from Fells Point to the Rose Hotel. We were very impressed with the level of service from reception staff to the restaurant staff.I would definitely say that all staff were top class.Bedroom was comfortable with good quality bedding.Staff were very receptive to feedback and promised to deal immediately with a small issue which we had.We look forward to a return stay to this lovely hotel.Thank you very much

I had to change the original booking to a new one and the process was so simple and I got very good help from the helpline My friends had a thoroughly lovely weekend and enjoyed their stay there- they were full of praise for the hotel room the staff and the food- thank you

We booked this hotel for a 2 night stay with dinner and breakfast included, We enjoyed our stay so much that we booked and stayed for a third night. This is a very good hotel, very good food, very comfortable bedrooms, pleasant & friendly staff throughout. plenty of car parking spaces, We will most definately be back again.

Derek scored 4 / 5 on 02/11/2016

This hotel is in a great location within Tralee, Hotel is spotless and well looked after. All staff were vert pleasant and couldnt do enough to help you. We had dinner on one of the nights and the food was very good. If i had 1 item to pick on it would be the breakfast in the morning time. Even though we were down early, As the hotel does your breakfast by order it takes some time before you actually get it. As a result of this with the large amount of people staying it seemed under staffed for breakfast. When we were finished their was a large Q out the door waiting to be seated. If they just put on a buffet breakfast they would not require half the staff and it would be a lot quicker.

Dawn scored 5 / 5 on 01/11/2016

Stayed in hotel for 2 nights in a family room(2 adults and 2 kids) and really enjoyed our stay. We've stayed in the hotel a few times in the last few years and have always been made feel very welcome but we were very impressed the new décor - it's gorgeous. If I have a fault there's no real facilities for kids - even a room for them to hang out in the evenings with a tv for movies etc would be ideal.

Patrick scored 5 / 5 on 27/09/2016

My wife an I stayed at the hotel for one night (Sept 24th). The experience was very good. The room was large and comfortable with nice extra touches such as bathrobes, ironing and tea making facilities. The bathroom was well stocked with an assortment of towels and the soaps and body washes were provided by Paul Costelloe. We encountered staff both at reception and in the bar. They were extremely busy as there was at least one wedding and the local hurling team and supporters arrived in after their victory and still we found staff to be pleasant, friendly and helpful without being intrusive. The food was well presented and of a good standard. The restaurant was booked up and so we ate in the bar. Booking in advance should be considered if you are looking for the restaurant experience. We took a taxi to town. The taxi man told us the back story to the hotel. Fascinating tinged with a little bit of sadness. The night on the town was great. Kerry people are very friendly. Breakfast the following morning was brilliant. The choices for breakfast I have rarely come across. We will certainly go back, hopefully in the next few months.

Hi, Our stay was just for the one night 03/08/16 - with Dinner but everything about the stay was very pleasant and satisfying from the moment we arrived. The accommodation was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The Hotel staff could not do enough - from reception to the Bar and especially the Dining room - we could not find fault anywhere. Meals also excellent. We will certainly 'call again' - highly recommended - and very reasonable.

Hotel is gorgeous, clean, Modern.. downfal l is no pool- although we got tickets from the lovely Sarah on reception to bring our daughter to aqua dome water park which is 5 mins away.. food wasn't great tbh, breakfast was ok, cold buffet and order your hot food to eat,but dinner in the restaurant was not very enjoyable I'm afraid. Quite bland, set menu when dinner was included: overall lovely hotel would stay again and would recommend.. bar food might be better next time :)

We stayed at fels point over the wkend . we had a grt time and took advantage of the discount at the aqua dome. From our first point of contact with the receptionist to checking out, everyone was very friendly and helpful. We waited a small bit in the restaurant but understandable due to renovations. Stayed in November also and grt to see the refurbishments coming on. Looking forward to our return visit.

I thoroughly enjoyed my night away at this hotel. The room was spacious and very clean. The food was good, the staff were very welcoming and I can't fault the hotel or its staff in any way. The gym was OK. I would stay again

Tom scored 3 / 5 on 25/01/2016

I contacted the hotel a week before we were due to arrive and I was told that renovations were taking place. This was not a problem as such but it would have been nice to see the hotel in it's full glory so to speak. Unfortunately, in it's present state, it's not a 4* establishment. The staff were as welcoming as can be under such circumstances especially in the restaurant.

Angel372 scored 3 / 5 on 23/12/2015

I asked for quiet room but I received room overlooking main road, horrible smell was coming from bathroom drains which was coming out to the room. I reported that to reception and nothing was done as smell was there for entire stay. Cleanless wasn't great either I found just beside my bed artificial nail after last occupant. This all made as to chceck out one day earlier. From good side , food was really good Both lunch and dinner. Breakfast was poor in choices.

Jim scored 4 / 5 on 26/11/2015

The room is well equipped and all was in order. Its what one would expect from a four star hotel. The room cleaning was somewhat hit and miss. Some obvious shortcomings on making the beds each day and vacuuming the floor. The bathroom toilet had a gap between the ceramic and the wall which needed sealing as it could pose a hygienic problem. The common areas of the corridors were not regularly cleaned. Several small paper waste lay on the corridor for the entire four days of our stay. The breakfast was very good with ample choice, quality and service. The bar served a good quality and choice menu for which we highly recommend it. The volume on the main TV was too loud at times - something to watch. Our review would have been 5* save for the issues identified above.

Claire scored 5 / 5 on 26/11/2015

We stayed at the hotel End November 2015. The Hotel was decorated for Christmas. The Staff on arrival were very friendly and helpful. After checking in we went to our room. The room was very spacious for 2 adults and 2 kids. The food and service was excellent in both the bar and restaurant. Although there is no pool in the Hotel the Aquadome is located a short drive away you can get discount vouchers from reception. I would highly recommend this hotel both for location and value for money. a very good 4 star hotel

Fabulous hotel with spacious family rooms. Food was amazing and the staff couldn't have been nicer. They moved our rooms for the second night of our stay after unruly guests disturbed the kids sleep, no problem at all. Our son had his birthday while we were there and the staff at the restaurant all sang Happy Birthday for him! Will definitely be back! Great service and friendly staff!

We really enjoyed our stay here again. They kindly put us right near the lift so I didn't have too far to walk. The room was very comfortable and we saw that there has been many improvements to the hotel since we were here earlier in the year. The only dissappointing thing was the meal. We had it in the restuarant and both courses were not great. The pork was very tough and the chocolate brownie was just a lump of solid chocolate so in that area they could do better. saying that the staff were great.

I would like to thank Lidl Breaks for opportunity to stay for such an affordable price in Fels Point Hotel in Tralee. Hotel was above expectations. I travel a lot with my family across the Ireland and have stayed in various hotels but this was something. It is clean, served in very professional manner both in Reception and in the Restaurant. Room standards are exceptionally high. From cleanliness to arrangement of facilities. Booked it also for another two families who are friend of mine and they were extremely happy of their expectations. Will come back again.

Had a fantstic stay at Fels Point Hotel Tralee. Staff were both pleasant and helpful. Food was lovely but bar food menu could do with having more basic food on ie. Pizza's, plain fish and chips, etc but saying that I did ask for something that was off the childrens menu in an adult potion and there was no hassle. Rooms were clean and tidy and my mums shower wasnt working 100% and that looked at it that day and rectified.

We (4 ladies) spent Saturday night 26th September 2015 at Fels Point Hotel in Tralee. We booked our stay through Lidl Breaks. What fantastic value it was and the booking process was extremely easy. We would highly recommend Fels Point. From the moment we checked into until we checked out the staff were really friendly and helpful. The welcome we received at reception was really warm and welcoming. The rooms were extremely, clean , comfortable and spacious. The beds and pillows were really comfy. We had dinner in the restaurant on Saturday and it was delicious. The staff really helpful in telling me what I could eat that was Gluten Free, the selection was excellent. We then went to the bar for a night cap (or two) and again found the bar to be of a very high standard with regard to cleanliness and friendly staff. Breakfast on Sunday morning was excellent with plenty on offer and everything was piping hot (and we didn't arrive until after 10am). Again for anyone needing Gluten Free food there was a separate are for toasting bread and there was even a selection of cereals.

We stayed in the hotel recently and it's a lovely hotel with friendly staff and we enjoyed the food. I had a few complaints however that wouldn't encourage me to stay again. The tv wasn't working in our room and my two young boys wanted to watch the family movie on RTE. I tried all the usual things to get it working but to no avail. I called down to reception who sent someone up to check it straight away. They couldn't get it to work either so they placed a call with the porter. The porter didn't come until about 40 mins later by which time I got it working myself by switching sockets. I rang down to reception four times to tell them I got it working to save the porter a trip but no on answered in reception. The porter did eventually call but I had it sorted before then. Later on the porter called again as he had a call to say we were having a problem with the toilets. We weren't and we didn't place a call. We had a wake up call at 05:00 which we also didn't ask for (and a disturbed sleep afterwards). When I mentioned all of this at checkout the receptionist was very nice and apologetic and asked if I wanted to speak to a manager to get a discount but I declined.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Fels Point for a weekend break. We were very pleased with our stay. The rooms were very comfortable and very clean. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. We ate in the restaurant one night of our stay and the food was excellent the waitress who served us was first class. The only complaint we had was the barman who was working Saturday and Sunday night was very surly and not pleasant. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a very pleasant and comfortable 3 night's stay at Fels Point recently. All the staff were pleasant and helpful, particularly those in reception. We were delighted that the hotel were able to provide a smoking room. We have stayed at Fels Point on various occasions since it opened and we have always been impressed with the quality of the furnishings and fittings. Our only concern with our stay on this occasion was that there was exactly the same menu in the dining room on 3 consecutive nights and we would have been running out of options if we had stayed longer.

Our room was very nice , spacious and clean. reception staff were friendly. We had breakfast brought to our room the next morning as a treat, they waiter came in to the room, i think it would have been better if there was a wheely tray so that we could have just taken it at the door , but the breakfast was nice. We had dinner in the bar in the evening , the food as lovely and our waiter Michael Pat was very nice. We ordered drinks at the bar and to be honest the bar man I found to be a bit rude just about answered us , not very nice at all. but over all this is a lovely hotel , nice food , comfy rooms

Julia scored 4 / 5 on 01/09/2015

Entertainment in the bar was disappointing. It was the same type of music both Friday and Saturday night and was boring after the first 10 mins. I would recommend a more upbeat act with some vocals that people could sing along to. The hotel itself was very comfortable and modern and the staff were lovely. It's just a pity the entertainment let the place down.

One of the four rooms we had booked was a long distance from the other three. We asked to get a room closer if possible and they selected a room across the hall from the others which was great. We had no complaints about anything and will definately be returning for another break to this hotel.

The rooms are lovely, and big. Hotel is five minutes from the town on foot through the park. I will go back to this hotel. we were there June 2015 carol

The Fels is a lovely hotel very clean and the rooms are spacey, the food is also good and the staff are very friendly, but what i didnt like about using the bargain break site to book hotel, is that you have to pay a non refundable deposit and with other websites that doesnt happen only if you dont cancel on time.

Wouldn't say this is anywhere near a four star standard.. The major and foremost reason was the manner or lack there of we were greeted by the receptionist on entering and departing the hotel. No welcome, smile, introduction, nothing! Made us feel like we were wasting her time asking any question! Dinner menu, meat and 2 veg style..bar menu more interesting, could do with mixing it up. Pasta dish just pasta with tomato sauce! Leisure centre with no pool?! Also greeted by most unfriendly lady in the spa when we enquired this ! Cheap Soap etc in bathroom and cheap tea, not even a biscuit! Hope they change the receptionist or she changes her attitude as its a MAJOR letdown of the hotel to feel this unwelcome.

Hi there, Whilst we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Tralee, myself and my family were quite disappointed with a few aspects of our stay in your hotel. When myself and my husband checked into our room, we noticed black marks/ stains on the duvet cover. We asked for this to be changed on the Saturday morning which it was. Our bins were not emptied on the Sunday morning of our stay. The bath gel was not replaced on the Sunday morning after I had used the one supplied the previous night. When we returned on Sunday evening, the ironing board, iron and hairdryer were still out in the room and not put away. My sister and her husband had their baby with them. On the Sunday morning, the bins in the room were not emptied - these obviously contained dirty nappies. I also found the food to be below par. When I arrived on Friday, I ordered the Mud Pie in the bar. What arrived was not Mud Pie (which should have been moist and rich), instead it was more like a chocolate brownie and it was very dry. The crème brûlée was very nice indeed. However, the presentation in a standard tea cup was very strange and not very appealing - it was the same type of cup that was in our bedroom! If it had been presented in a more appropriately shaped dish, it would have looked much better. (Crème brûlée should be served in a wide flat dish). I'm sorry now that I've had to put these issues in writing to you but when I got your email asking for feedback I decided I should let you know what we were unhappy about during our stay. I have managed a hotel in the past and would gladly take on board any criticism in an effort to improve standards for guests. Let me reiterate that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Tralee overall. And we found ALL of your staff very pleasant and helpful at all times. We are aware that the hotel has recently come under new management and would definitely consider staying again if standards were to improve. Elaine Dalton

Lovely hotel close to town of Tralee. Room was spacious 2x2 very clean, no noise & fridge was very handy. Food was lovely but the menu was the same for the 3nights we stayed. The hotel has no swimming pool but is close to the aqua dome in Tralee which you pay for separately. Over all we enjoyed our stay. We visited Killarney & Dingle which was lovely.

The hotel was comfortable and we had a very pleasant stay. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The one thing that was not good was an extremely dirty and unhygenic loo brush which greeted us every time we went into the bathroom. It was stored in a holder attached to the wall in full view and right next to the loo roll. Very unpleasant and I'm sure would cost only a few euro to replace.

I was a bit concerened as I had read on trip adviser that the food wasnt great but I will tell you this the food was amazing beautifuly presented and full of flavour and the waiting staff couldnt have done enough for us. The rooms were big and spacious and we even had a balcony and were blessed with the weather. The hotel itself is very close to city centre and the omniplex. Overall the hotel and especially the staff deserve 5 gold stars from me and if I was ever back in Tralee its the place I would stay.

We stayed at the fels point hotel for one night. I honestly would not rate this hotel as a four stat hotel. Our room was very average. I noticed there was a cob web on the ceiling and there were a few marks on the walls & sink in the bathroom was cracked. The food was not great, I couldn't finish my main course & the desert was poor also. I ordered pancakes for breakfast the next morning and couldn't eat them as they were definitely not prepared fresh ! The one positive thing I can say is the staff were very nice and friendly. We wouldn't unfortunately stay here again!

Never Again would I darken the door, ignorant staff, stuffy rooms and the food from breakfast to dinner was just simply horrible and cooked so badly,I'm embarrassed for the owners who also stood in the bar talking loudly and laughing you'd think they where the ones on holiday

Ian scored 4 / 5 on 28/05/2014

I stayed here with my wife and children. Warm welcome and excellent family room size, decor and facilities. Good location to explore the Northern side of Kerry and surrounding counties. Although the staff were very courteous and friendly in the restaurant the tables and high chairs needed a good clean with disinfectant (a problem we encounter with many hotels, not just this one). Good selection of food for children and adults. We only found about about vouchers for aquadome after our stay so would have been useful to know this as kids love to be in a pool. That said, if the bedroom floors are vacuumed daily, underground car park is better lit and secured with a barrier and little touches like biscuits in the room, Fels Point could easily be bought up to five stars. Would stay here again as excellent value for money.

Mary scored 4 / 5 on 27/05/2014

I am giving the hotel a 4 star rating as i stay here 3 to 4 times a year and never have had reason to complain. this stay however was not the same.we complained that there was a smell in the room, the tv didnt work and the food the first evening was cold. this was all dealt with efficiently and goodheartedly with the staff who I cannot praise highly enough., I realise that the hotel has changed hands and there may be teething problems so I will not be holding these experiences against the hotel and will look forward to my next visit there in june

Chris scored 4 / 5 on 20/05/2014

Stayed with my sister in law for two nights. On arriving we decided to use the underground car park as we intended relaxing for the weekend and would not be using the car. We took a lift inside the door and no matter what number we pressed we could not get to reception. My first time in a hotel where we could access bedroom floors directly from car park, which I would say is a security risk. Evemtually, having walked a lot of corridors we found reception and said this to two members of staff and they just stood looking at us. We were checked in with minimum fuss or conversation and sent on our way. Cold welcome here we thought. Our room was really nice, clean and comfortable and the shower was great and we had a small balcony. Had breakfast served to room on morning number one which was very good. Dinner in dining room was also very good and breakfast second morning very good. The restuarant manager was the friendliest person we met in the hotel. She stopped and chatted to us a while. But now my complaint. I noticed something had run down the front of my car when we were leaving but, as it was raining I thought it will wash off. How wrong I was. The more rain that fell on it the whiter and more solidified it became. On arriving home I tried to wash it off but the only thing that would lift it was limescale remover and elbow grease. Lesson learned. Look out for leakages from roof of car parks. This car park needs closing up and fixing up. While I enjoyed my stay at the Fels Point hotel I don't think I will stay again. Chris

Room was good, had booked for 2 adults and 3 children but when we arrived the room was only set up for 4 - this was not a big issue for us and was rectified once we pointed it out. The only major issue and the thing that lets this hotel down was the breakfast - it was very disappointing on both mornings and in fact on Sunday morning the bread rolls were the only appetizing option, never a good sign..... We had to leave our seats to search out staff to request refills for tea and coffee, the restaurant wasn't busy but the staff seemed to have better things to do than serve the guests. Given our experience at breakfast, we didn't eat any other meals in the hotel.

My partner and I arrived a Fells Pointt Hote in Traleel at 15.00 last Sunday as this was the 'Check - In - Time'. Our room was not ready and so we had to wait, with many other couples for 45 minutes to get our room. This was not a good start. While waiting for our room to be ready I visited the toilets. The cubicle that I used had no toilet paperand had a very dirty floor. I was lucky to have clean tissues in my pocket. I reported the 'No Paper' to the Hotel Receptionist and she thanked me and said it would be taken care of. I do not know if it was or not. We got the Key to our room at 15.45 and went to our room. We were happy with it. It was spacious and clean. It had one double and one single bed with a good size TV. It had a table & three chairs and ajustable 'Air Conditioning' which worked very well. I would give the room 10 out of 10. We had breakfast at 7.00am Monday morning and the food was very good and the staff were very friendly. 10 out of 10 for this breakfast. Tuesday's Breakfast was not as good and I would give it 7.5. Breakfast on Wednesday was again very good and I would score it 10 out of 10. We had dinner on Wednesday night and it was very beautiful. Again 10 out of 10. The staff were very friendly all during our stay and we were very pleased by this. Overall the Toilet, One Breakfasr and Check - In were very disapointing but the rest of our stay was very enjoyable. I would rate our stay at 7 out of 10. T. K. from County Clare.

The hotel was lovely and the staff really friendly and helpful. We upgraded which was a waste of money, we got dressing gowns, slippers and 3 pieces of fruit, there was supposed to be a docking station for the I pod but that wasn't there, made no difference as everything in the room was lovely and clean. The food in the hotel was beautiful and again the waitresses were really friendly and helpful, the worked so hard. We will definitely go back to the hotel again.

Stayed here recently with husband and 2 children. Very impressive reception and enterance. Rooms were very spacious and very clean, and plenty of towels in the room which is very unusual compared to anywhere else we have stayed. Location of hotel very central and plenty of free car parking. Decided to stay in the hotel for some dinner. Normally hotel food can be a hit or a miss but we were extremely impressed by the food quality and price. Bar and serving staff extremely efficient and very helpful and were great with the kids. We were celebrating youngest childs birthday and staff organised a little surprise for young sir (we were completely unaware), lets just say one very happy little boy. Quality of sleep fantastic and rooms very comfortable. The only downside to this trip was the breakfast. As much as the staff were working very hard (8am), there was evidence of lack of staff due to the queues outside the restaurant, lack of tables and tables needing cleared, and the shortage of hot food. I waited over 20 minutes for 2 poached eggs (after having requested them twice) i eventually had to leave the restaurant with very little breakfast. The plus side though the kids received complimentary tickets to the Aquadome which completed their trip. All in all i would definately go back for another visit.

Treated quite badly in the restaurant. We were 15 minutes early and they would not seat us (even though over 1/2 the restaurantwas empty)We were mortified. . The hotel were to follow up on the issues we had but we have not heard anything to date. Bedroom wall very dirty. It has drink splatter and dirt on it. Breakfast staff were lovely. No feedback forms and receptionist did not even ask us how we got on. Very dissapointed (comparing to other hotels in area which I have stayed in on numerous occasions)

Spent Valentine's weekend here and was impressed by friendly and helpful staff, great food in restaurant and very comfortable rooms. Gym is reasonably well equipped with resident instructor. Not especially enamored by the bar area - a bit too open and I'm not a great fan of elevated seating areas in the middle of the bar. Would stay again, which is the best outcome from any visit.

We stayed for the fifth time in the carlton tralee and as always i was not disapointed. Every time we stay we are treated really well to the point of me saying that there is nowhere i'd rather stay when visiting family in tralee. Its fabolous value for money, would be mad not to book the Lidl breaks offer. We were upgraded this time as a treat to us and we got to use the Aquadome. Sure that would have been 27 euro to just enter (me and my daughter). The food is fab, staff are 5 star and to be honest of all the hotels i have ever stayed in over the years, the carlton in tralee and kinsale are in my top 10. Thanks for another lovely break, cant wait to the next break away. Forgot to say its so kid friendly, my 6 year old was heartbroken leaving, she cried all the way up the road home. Keep up the good work. Olga Robert and Lauren Treacy from Lovely Leitrim.

Two couples staying 2 nights in Dec '13- lovely hotel, rooms comfortable and as expected. Dinner in restaurant and breakfast were delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful. The bar was quiet on one evening busy the second as a function was on but bar staff friendly and chatty. The Spa treatments were amazing with excellent staff providing professional service with aftercare advice also given. Overall had a lovely stay, will recommend to friends and will come back again in the future. Only recommendation is to have water in rooms. It is available from vending machine but we didn't notice this till the second day and missed the water during the night.

Very nice hotel. Very clean. Perfect for a break. Service in restaurant and bar good and very accessible to Tralee town centre. Only disappointing element cleaning staff waking guests at 9am to start cleaning the bedrooms, doesn't make for a relaxing break.

Hi, we've stayed here a number of times already & have always been happy with it. Downsides this time - had booked room for 2 A & 2 C, 2nd bed wasnt in the room when we arrived & the girl on the desk got a bit tick about it when I asked for it. When we arrived at 3.00pm, the only slot in the dining room for the night was 8.30pm,!! Also, you only get entry to the aquadome ONCE during your stay, before it was unlimited. Breakfast was lovely.

Excellent hotel. Staff were attentive and courteous, facilities first class. Rooms were air conditioned and power showers had excellent pressure. The aquadome (400 metres from hotel) was open to residents, which was particularly useful for kids. The breakfast buffet had quality ingredients and even when busy the staff remained attentive. We will be back!

Lmf scored 5 / 5 on 04/04/2013

We stayed in this hotel for Easter '13 and had a fantastic time. It's a family orientated hotel, with friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are bright & spacious and bedroom/bathroom was spotless (great power shower!). Everything was perfect; location (just on outskirts of Tralee town) atmosphere relaxed; evening entertainment in bar; ample seating in the foyer to relax with a drink or play board games by the fire, read the paper etc. The breakfast in the morning was a real treat, catering for kids (pancakes with maple syrup), a selection of delicious mini Danish pastries, healthy options of fruit and cereals and a large buffet with the full Irish etc. A trip to the Medieval Experience in the local Museum is well worth the visit, also the Blennerville Windmill just minutes away is great with a chance to see the inside of a real working windmill with it's own collection of interesting antique pieces displayed in it's visitors center attached. The Aquadome is just around the corner - all in all, a great place to stay and excellent value for what it offers.

The hotel is very classy and the staff is friendly and professional. The service was excellent. I can highly recommend dinner in the hotel restaurant as it was absolutely delicious. The breakfast buffet was diverse and well organised with friendly and timely service as well. The resident's bar closed kinda early, so not for night owls. Overall, a really nice hotel with excellent service. I would go back in a heart beat.

Enjoyed the stay great price and delighted to get a good price at the weekend. Nice staff in the breakfast room and an invisible staff the rest of the time which is a mark of a good hotel. Getting free into the aqua dome was a great bonus and saved us about €30.

Ruth scored 4 / 5 on 12/02/2013

My son and I loved staying in this hotel, the staff were very nice. The room was really clean and well furnished. We enjoyed the big selection at breakfast time and coming down early is really worth it, you get great service at this time. Of course the highlight of the trip for my son was having free access into the Aquadome, all guests at the Carlton get this and that really sold it for us. We went twice and it would have cost us over 50 euro if we weren't staying in the Carlton. So all in all I'd say it is well worth it, the sauna and plunge pool there in the Aquadome is great. We had to go to the lobby to get wifi as it does not work in the bedroom at least in ours it didn't. This is the only thing that was disappointing as I did need to use the laptop to write out directions of places we wanted to go and see. But at least we got it in the lobby. Not sure what the problem was in the bedroom, I even tried the green cable to connect to the laptop but that didn't work either. So overall it was great service and we would go back again.

Your rate for one night Band B plus dinner was excellent. Staff were friendly, dinner in dining room was excellent. We were attending the afters of a wedding so ideal. We would use Lodi breaks again and highly recommend. now the down side we decided to stay a further night and dinner, but the hotel had no wifi, well they try to. Get my iPad up and running and no avail, we wished to book with you again. The hotel would not offer us the same deal even though we were using same room etc????". e did ask for the best rate and they charged us 95 euro for two for B and B, as regards din er rate would be as a la carte , we were tired so opted to stay. we booked for dinner in dining room but when we arrived food was only being served in the bar, which that evening they named Bistro!!!!! No candles bar tables etc., very disappoint ted for a 4 star hotel, we heard two other people complain, and one couple went out of hotel for dinner. There was a good few di ners, and when one is away like to dress for dinner!!! However no wifi in this day and age !!!!! Said the system had some problems. Would return on your deals but please clarify what they are advertising. Thanking you & Kenneth Leary.

My partner and I enjoyed our one night stay in the Carleton. We had told them in advance that the reason for our stay was to celebrate my partners 50th birthday and we were upgraded to an executive suite which we greatly appreciated. The staff were very courteous and efficent, reception, waiting and general staff. Our room was very generous, the bed was comfortable and the services in the room were great. The only complaint I have is the location of the television. It felt like it was miles waay from the bed. My partner and I like to sit up in be watching tv, so bring the tv close to the bed or at least make it movable! For the price we paid for our bed and breakfast we were very satisified with our stay and we would go back again at these prices.

Carlton Hotel Tralee - Nice Hotel, a little out of Town. -Reception- Nice Area and Staff were friendly. -Bedroom- Nice and Comfortable and Spacious. Didnt really like the air con, to work the Heat do...Guess one of us should left key in power slot. -Restaurant-Restaurant was busy, quickly served and we had a lovely meal....Only downfall is that everythn seemed to be too rushed, which didnt make it as relaxed as maybe it could of been...I guess it was the Bank Holiday Sunday and the Hotel was busy. Think all 4 stars should have bottled water in Bedrooms do. Overall Nice stay do.

Five of us stayed in the carlton hotel Tralee last weekend we enjoyed are stay but there is a few things that need to be improved service in the dining area was very poor having ordered or meal and drinks we waited 20 minutes for our drinks to come and the wrong drinks were brought down to us. Our starters were then brought out and the waiter was at the wrong table. We had dinner booked for 8'clock and by the time it was served and we got the right meal we were not finished until after 11 0'clock. We then proceed to the bar for a drink it would have been nice if there was some entertainment.

The Hotel itself is lovely but we were very disappointed that we were given a link room and were not informed. Having gone to bed at 11.30pm we were woken up at midnight with the noise of the television next door and the people talking. The conversation could be clearly heard which would mean that any conversation my husband and I were to have could also be heard. This upset me and I phoned Reception and was offered another room. It was well after midnight at that stage and we were unpacked so I declined. I did speak to the Duty Manager on the following morning and she said that it was never an issue before. I did ask if it was because we had booked through Lidl that we were given what could best be described as a shared room and was assured that it was not However I have my doubts since there obviously were rooms available when I was offered another room in the early hours of the morning. I did explain to the Duty Manager that had we been advised that we were getting a link room we would have opted to return home or to go on to Killarney instead. I would be very slow to return there for this reason.

Stayed at the carlton hotel 14 to 16 of september. We really enjoyed our stay. I booked two rooms, a twin and double, both contained a double and twin bed. The room was very clean and spacious with a flat screen tv and refrigerator, ironing board and iron, hairdryer. Bathroom didn't have a shower hat or wash cloth so bring your own. I paid 89 euro pps for two nigts b&b and 1 evening meal which was terrific value. You can eat in either resturaunt or bar. We opted for the bar which served well presented fresh tasty food. We were all happy with our choices. Free access to the aqua dome on presenting your room key. The kids club is advertised for saturdays on the website. It costs 15 euro which includes their breakfast and dinner per day. They said it was on 6 to 10 sat and 9 to 12 sun morning, However my son was the only kid sat night and they still went ahead with it but cancelled sun morning which was understandable. He loved it and was quite happy to stay the full 4 hours when I checked on him after 2 hours. Breakfast is a buffet style with the usual cereals, juices, fruit, breads and full irish which you serve yourself which was delicious. Would we stay again most definitely!!!!

excellent value ,service and food throughout our 5 day stay. Our 2 children had a great time and staff could not do enough for us from start to finish. This is our second year in the Carlton in Tralee and would have no hesitation in recommending the hotel to anyone. The inclusion of the free use of the Aquadome is a big attraction and indeed a place where we had hours of fun.A special word of thanks to Sinead in the restaurant who was a terrific ambassador for the hotel in that she was exceptional in her work and help towards us.Keep up the great work in the Carlton in Tralee and who knows if you can repeat this offer next year we will make it a hat trick with our third year in a row. Please pass on our thanks to all the staff for their help and for making us so welcome in the hotel and indeed to places such as Toby World and the Bowling alley where we visited and again the kids enjoyed.

Spent a weekend here recently and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were late in checking in but had phoned ahead, and on our arrival everything had been prepared, so no delay at reception, just picked up our room number....really top class. Food was excellent, especially enjoyed the breakfast, which is huge plus for me....spent the evening with friends and the food and service was second to none....well done Carlton, will definitely be back ...Pat

I really couldn't fault this hotel or the staff. For a start it's beatuiful..immaculately kept. I was on a strict gestational diabetes diet when I was there.. every request I had was accommodated.. changes to the evening dinner menu in the restuarant to getting skimmed milk and low fat butter for breakfast. My hubby felt the only thing they could do to improve was to put a sign at the left turn into the carpark - as you come from the main road.. I thought it was fine, cause we found it anyway, but if you were arriving in the winter it might be a different story. We would definately stay here again..10/10!!!

Complained to manager re allocation of smoking room. She said that option to choose was on their own site but not on Lidl breaks site!!! I told her that she should ensure that all sites that use the hotel should make their clients aware of the smoking rooms. The smell in the room was disgusting and there were cigarette buts all over the balcony. The food , size of room and staff were very good. The two of you should get together to ensure that non smokers are not given a smelly smokers room!!!!The star rating would be much higher if not for the problem above.I thought smoking was illegal in any publicly used area?

On arrival, reception staff very friendly. Room amazing, quite large, on corner with little balcony and nice views. We ate in restaurant first night and food was surprisingly good. I had the duck and my husband the lamb. The cheese souffle as a starter was to die for. We stayed 3 nights, had bar food (burgers, yummy) second night as we were too tired from sightseeing to venture outside and that was a positive experience also. Would thoroughly recommend the hotel in every respect. Can't think of anything negative to say.

Only stayed one night for B&B, but couldn't fault it. Requested room for 'Disabled' which was perfect. As my husband can walk only a short distance they gave us a room close to the lift, and also offered the use of a wheelchair if needed. Breakfast was freshly made Porridge and freshly cooked scrambled egg, which you don't get everywhere. Staff extremely pleasant and helpful. Will definitely be back, especially as it was such good value for money. Only fault I had was road signage as it is more or less hidden, but it seems the local Council refused to help out here! What a shame, when they should be encouraging visitors to stay in their town. Mary

Really lovely hotel. The staff were extremely accommodating and helpful. The guy on the desk arranged food for us as we arrived pretty late. The room was really big and very comfortable. The only one issue I would have is the noise from the main road. The windows dont seem to be that well insulated as I could hear the traffic during the night and I am used to traffic as I live in a busy area. Having a room at the back of the hotel would solve this problem. The breakfast was very nice and they were constantly bring out small dishes of fresh food to top up rather than having food sitting there going cold and stale. The hotel also gives free entry to the Aquadome which in itself saved us about €40. The kids had an absolute ball there. All in all a very pleasant stay and I will definitely be back. HOpe to try the Spa next time as the menu looked good and the prices very reasonable for a hotel.

THE CARLTON HOTEL IS A NICE HOTEL A LOVELY LOCATION, AS A FOUR STAR HOTEL I FELT THEIR WAS A FEW SHORTCUTS COMPARED TO OTHER FOUR STAR HOTELS WE STAYED IN.THE BREAKFAST WAS NOT CONSISTENT EACH MORNING ONE MORNING THEIR WAS PLENTY OF FRUIT , ON THE OTHER MORNINGS WE HAD TO ASK FOR MORE,BUT HAVING SAID THAT IF IN TRALEE AGAIN I WOULD DEFINITELY STAY IN THE CARLTON.

we stayed their recently with our two children checking in was quick receptionist was very freindly we had a lovely stay room was overlooking a garden and and very spacious and clean, we had a lovely dinner that night in the restaurant staff was very efficent seeing as we had an 18 month baby and time was the key we were served very quickly, the only thing menu was very limited we eat plain food and there was nothing like it on the menu we went for chicken which you cant go wrong with. Breakfast was lovely what a fab buffet the only thing was waiting a while on pancakes but they eventually came overall it was great value for money and because i work in a 5 star hotel i woud be very critical seeing as im in the business but everything was fine and we will be back

FANTASTIC hotel, rooms lovely, modern, clean fresh and reasonably big. Staff were so friendly, dinner was lovely, we went dinner b & b basis and the dinner was the a la carte restaurant menu, not a cheaper replacement menu as we were expecting as we were on this deal. Fantastic breakfast also, could not fault the hotel. It is situated about 15 minute walk from city centre, only about 3-4 minute drive to the city centre where it is oly 60c per hour or 3 euros per day to park outside the Brandon hotel. Parking, wifi are free at the hotel and they give you free entrance to the aqua dome if you want it. There is a kids club which is 15 euros per first child and 13 euros thereafter per day. Can not recommend this hotel holy enough, if you go to Tralee, STAY HERE.

My wife and I stayed at the Carlton HotelTralee for three nights on a Lidl dinner, bed and breakfast basis. The room was excellent value for the price paid. For some reason the room was only equipt with one glass, one coffe mug and one tea-cup. There was a double queen bed and a separate single bed in the room so it was quite large although some wasted space. The dinner choice was quite limited and the breakfast had a reasonable choice. The surcharges for the non standard items was very high. Curiously although grapefruit juice was listed as a breakfast item none was available on the three mornings of our stay. The juices were in metal containers and unlabelled and it was difficult to see what was in each vessel as they were not labelled. Service in the restaurant for dinner was quite slow and one particular waiter ignored us on our first night. Be careful on signing charges to your room. We were charged for an entire bottle of wine rather than a glass with one of our rounds of drink. Despite shortcomings during our stay the Lidl brek costs were very reasonable for this hotel. If the staff could improve their focus on the customer the experience could be exceptional.

The hotel was roomy and clean and well decorated. The staff were all extremely helpful and polite and friendly - both the hotel staff and the bar and restaurant staff - cannot praise them enough. Room was spacious and clean and had everything we needed, also you could open the windows, the airconditioning worked well, there was a fridge and a hairdryer, plus a recycling bin, all of which we appreciated! Only 2 small criticisms, firstly that the a la carte menu food was very pricey considering the food was average bar food quality, if even that, and secondly that you could not include the breakfast when booking through the lidl deal and therefore brekkie ended up costing us almost as much as the room. However, liked the hotel so much that I'm considering returning with another friend.

Really great rooms, very comfortable, service at the hotel excellent, only downside was the breakfast, very poor quality, good selection of options. But my husband and I both had the hot breakfast and were some what surprised at how tasteless it was in particular in the sausages. Don't know where they are sourcing their food. Some other extended family members stayed also and were of the same opinion, pity!. but would definitley stay there again for the confort of the rooms only.

Very good hotel. Well equipped and spacious rooms. Dinner and breakfast were good and the service was superb. However, be aware that this hotel will put a block on your credit card for a week after you leave, perhaps they only clean the rooms once a week...

Stayed in this hotel last weekend on a Lidl break and what fantastic value for money that was! Lovely hotel, lovely rooms, ate dinner in the bar on 2 of the nights, the food was reasonably priced and very good. The early bird menu in the bar is great value with a main, dessert, glass of wine and tea/coffee for around 16.00 euro. Breakfast was also very good with the usual continental buffet and hot options - I was particularly delighted to see a hotel breakfast offering seeds on the buffet for the healthier eaters! The only downside was that the room allocated to us on arrival was close to the function room (room 127) - there was a ball on the first night and we could nearly sing along to the music! The night receptionist was extremely accommodating when we rang down at 1.30am and asked for a room change. Keys to a room on the 3rd floor were dropped up to us within 10 minutes and we were at least able to get some sleep for the rest of the night and then moved our luggage over the next morning. The hotel seems to be very busy with functions over the weekend so make sure to ask for a room away from the function room if you are a light sleeper! I really couldn't fault this hotel for service and friendly staff. It is a great base for exploring the rest of Kerry and a handy location for exploring Dingle. Unfortunately Tralee town was a bit of a let down, very little in the way of night life, a bit derelict and a lot of shops / restaurants closed down or in need of a spruce up... this hotel is definitely Tralee's saving grace!

Myself and my boyfriend stayed last weekend for 2 nights. I do not have anything bad to say. The welcome at the reception was very warming. First impressions of the hotel foyer was a wow. The room was very impressive. We were celebrating our anniversary and were lucky enough to get a room with a balcony. The room was 5star standard. The next morning was even a better surprise. The breakfast was brilliant and the best i have ever had at a 4 star hotel. Nothing was missed. I even requested poached eggs, and the hotel was more than happy to provide this. There was something on the menu for everyone. A buffet hot fried breakfast, cereals, fruit, yogurts, pastries, many varieties of bread, many jams etc. I have probably even forgot some things. The toast was a self service toaster which was a plus also. the bar had a lovely ambient atmosphere. the lighting throughout the hotel was really relaxing. The staff couldn't have been any friendlier. i will definetly be back!! thank you

The positives first, easy to locate, excellent parking, pleasant reception staff, bedrooms of a good size with comfortable beds, good food with attentive waiting staff and an excellent restaurant manager, coeliac diet was accommodated at all times, bar was enjoyable with staff happy to interact or leave you in peace whichever you preferred. Complimentary daily papers (Irish Independent or Irish Times) which could be read in the spacious foyer area with plentiful comfortable seating. All of these positives made the weekend highly enjoyable. The negatives were minor but at 4 star level should not occur, the towel rail in the bathroom was loose, the bathroom towels were a little on the skimpy side for 4 star, the dinner menu was very limited and did not change from night to night.

Hello, my fiance and I have just returned from a two night weekend break at the Carlton Tralee. When we arrived at the hotel the foyer was nicely decorated with a piano and nice furniture surrounding the reception. The receptionist was nice and friendly and informative. When we arrived to our room, we were a little disappointed, not necessarily in the room but the lack of attention to detail for a 4 star hotel and it only had a bath, no seperate shower. Yes the bed was very comfortable which is very importmant, but other little things took away from the over all experince like the reception on the tv stations where very bad, then I had unpacked and put everything away and was just getting ready to have a bath, when the taps in the bath where not working, so I rang reception and someone arrived promptly but the situation could not be fixed as the part for the tap was not available so we got moved, which i did'nt mind as we could not shower or bathe,it was just a little awkward because we had everything unpacked and put away. We got moved to a family room, for just the two of us. The attention to detail in this room was just the same, the room had no bath stopper after all the things that had happened, luckily enough I had the key for the other room so I ran down to the other room and grabbed the bath stopper from there. The first room had big cups which we loved , but when we got moved they only the half size cups, so I rang reception, and kindly asked and they obliged, the staff were great. The breakfast in the hotel was lovely, great variety even with pancakes, the breakfast was lovely both mornings . I felt it was a pity that the leisure centre was not onsite, fair enough its within 2 km of the premises but i do enjoy being able to us the onsite facilities, and we were on a break without the kids so we were not really looking forward to a kid filled leisure centre . We decided to do the Slea Head Drive which was absolutaley beautiful, we drove through Dingle and Mount Brandon and we done Connor Pass. . We watched the match and had some lunch in the bar, the food was fine we had soup and sandwiches. Overall we had a great stay, staff could not be more helpful, the beds were really comfortable, the hotel itself was nicely decorated, but it was just the little things that took away from what a four star should feel like, the bedrooms did not feel like a four star with just a basic small bathroom.

Excellent staff, very helpful and friendly. Very good for family. Only 10 minutes walk from Aquadome and Tralee town centre. Website info regarding spa was not updated when we booked but local spa/salon (Nicola's Haven) offered very good treatments and still honoured Carlton discount. Spa in hotel opening the day after our departure only! so didn't try. Some details were disapointing: some of the bathrooms fittings were loose (room 312) and the bathroom supplies (shampoo..) very limited. No comment cards available in room or at reception. Room service tray left on corridor floor from afternoon until next morning. Restaurant and bar food and service were perfect and catered very well for young children as well. Good atmosphere at week end.

Hotel and staff were very nice. Breakfast was one of the best i've had at any hotel. Bar food was good also. Good location, about 10-15 minute walk to town centre. on the negative, wifi should be free and the dome is about 5 minute walk and not next door as advertised. Rgds Michael

Just came back from a long weekend in the Carlton Hotel in Tralee booked through the Lidl Breaks, what a fantastic weekend and a fantasric hotel. All the staff were wonderful, the rooms were beautiful and the price for 3 nights bed and breakfast just finished it off E180 for two people sharing. Il definately do it again. Thanks to all

Good value for money, the staff at breakfast were helpful and friendly. Reception were nice and efficient. Having the aquadome as part of the deal was a novelty. The bar had good entertainment most nights. One flaw, the rooms were poorly sound-proofed, we could hear the next room's TV very well. Although, this is a common hotel construction flaw.

Spent a five day lidl break recently and we have to say without doubt it was a week to remember for all the positive reasons. The location firstly is ideal situated within walking distance of the town centre and the nearby aqua centre.Ample parking. The entire staff and management team could not do enough for us and our two children. The food at breakfast time and the evening meal was excellent in quality and quantity served up by excellent staff who were always poisitive and helpful. Ian and your team take a big bow and by the way the two sample deserts you kindly gave to my wife and myself were lovely and full marks to your chef. There were clean plates every day with us.The room was excellent with everything a family could need included in it. It was warm and cleaned every morning by very obliging and helpful staff. The ladies on reception again were very helpful and polite with any inquiries we had during the week. The package included free usage of the nearby aqua park and by god it was excellent . As a family we paid a visit each day and found it an excellent centre for families. We enjoyed many hours in the pool and recommend it to any future clients of the Carlton.Overall we had a fabulous stay in the Carlton and Tralee. It has been twenty years since I visited Tralee and I would definetly recommend it to any family for a holiday. There is a vast amount to do in Tralee and the fabulous clean Banna beach is only a ten minute drive from Tralee. Thanks to one and all for a fabulous break in the Carlton. Please God we shall return some day .

First impression was modern and spotlessly clean. Check in was smooth and friendly. room was excellent. Took the %u20AC49 dinner, bed and breakfast package which seems excellent value. The dinner was good. Indeed everything was first class - until breakfast. Other posters have already mentioned it here and on Tripadvisor so I am glad to know it wasn't just us. We were there between 9am and 9.45am on the morning of 8th June. It was totally disorganised and I could see the mayhem around me. It was the first time I had breakfast without bread. Our toast never arrived and, yes, we asked, and asked again but our requests fell on deaf ears. I tried to get ordinary bread any type of bread, even a scone or a pastry but failed. Couple next to us also had problems and saw others frustrated. Eventually we gave up, checked out and left.

Great hotel, very clean and fresh. Great choice for breakfast and excellent evening meal. Small restaurant so go early for a relaxing breakfast, its a bit manic after 9am. Gym great- bring your own shower gel and shampoo. I would definately recommend this hotel and at the price we paid for our stay would definately stay again.

Lorna scored 5 / 5 on 08/06/2011

The hotel is really lovely, front of house staff great. Good location and loads to do in Tralee. However, my one complaint was their inability to manage the breakfast service - nobody seemed to take ownership of it and people were queuing and waiting for food for a long time and no amount of asking staff to rectify the situation seemed to make any difference. The food is lovely but the mangement of the whole process is lacking and with a few minor adjustments it would truly be a great service all round.

My wife and I stayed on a 2 night weekend Lidl break in May 2011 in the Carlton Hotel, Tralee, which included an evening meal at Morel's restaurant. The hotel has a new feel to it, the room was up to date, spotlessly clean and service was fine; the food & atmosphere in the restaurant were top notch. Our stay included access to the Aquadome which was fantastic. The hotel location is 10 min walk to the centre of town. The package price was reasonable and most of all the staff were fantastic - very friendly & helpful, We would strongly recommend it.

Stayed for a 3 night break in April, everything was superb, the room was really comfortable, spacious and very well furnished. The staff could not have been more helpful, and the food served in the restaurant and bar was top class and great value. Lidl breaks gave us an opportunity to experience a top class hotel at extremely competitive rates and were the best value deals we could find! We will be back again.

Stayed for one night in the Carlton Hotel in Tralee, we were there for a wedding, the hotel was lovely, the bedrooms are really nice, spacious, clean and comfy. The wedding went off really well, the drinks reception was great, the food at the wedding was nice, not fab, but fine. The breakfast the next morning was ok. The staff were ok..... not the nicest hotel staff I have ever met but we didn't have a problem with anyone. The girl on reception on Sat morning was a little abrupt, which I found strange for reception. On the whole, even thought the hotel itself was lovely I don't think I would rush back there. As for value for money I was really happy that I had booked through Lidl breaks, I had rung the hotel myself to see if they had a deal on for wedding guests, but the price was 25% dearer than Lidl breaks, so needless to say I booked with Lidl, I will definetly use Lidl Breaks again although maybe not at this hotel, its great value and I have already recommended the web sites to family and friends.

We stayed in the carlton last weekend. While the hotel was lovely, we were disappointed with the room service. We had ordered breakfast to come between 9.30 and 10.00. Thinking that maybe they were running behind schedule, i decided to give them a chance. But at about 10.20 i phoned reception to be told they had not recieved our room service order. After explaining that we had placed our order the night before, we were able to get 2 full irish breakfasts. The waiter arrived and had found that our order card was still hanging on our door, having not been collected as they should have at 4am. Our fry ups were certainly not freshly made and seemed like they were just heated up leftovers. No white toast but wholemeal toast which was stale - definately not freshly toasted. No ketchup which is a must with a full irish! As for the grapefruit juice, that was certainly watered down. I'm never one for forming complaints or causing grief to staff. So I decided that when i was checking out, i would mention it to reception when asked "how did we enjoy our stay" but we were not even asked such a question. However, it is a lovely hotel and it would not put me off staying again, i'm just disappointed that their mistake was not acknowledged on our departure. And finally, Lidl breaks are fantastic value for money. Will certainly be booking through you again!!

Lovely hotel, had a small problem with safe which was fixed immediately and shower could have been better. However, overall, food was good, room was spacious and staff were excellent. Just a note to management, more staff are needed at breakfast, staff that were working were too busy to clear tables which took from the look of the restaurant. Welcome at reception was excellent and check out staff were very good.

Jean scored 5 / 5 on 26/03/2011

Lidl breaks are great value especially the fact that you can go for one night with dinner and it doesn't have to be 2 nights. Carlton Hotel was defo 4 star. Really clean, big rooms, powerful shower and comfortable. The receptionists and other staff were very helpful and friendly. Dinner was extremly tasty. It's near Aquadome and cinema for kids. Would stay here again.

Overall we were very pleased with our 3 night LIDL break taken over St. Patrick’s week-end. The staff was very attentive, food good and the rooms extremely comfortable and promptly serviced to a high standard. Not meaning to be overly critical but a few small items need review namely: The litter and cigarette butts which line the entrance stairs needs attention, charging a supplement for a fish choice at breakfast was extraordinary, and the lack of a local street map in the room or reception could easily be put right. Having said that we would call again. TJM

Hotel was good value, room was nice, meals were ok, at dinner the starters were excellent, I could have done the main courses better myself. Breakfast was the same I could have done better myself. Still though it wasn't terrible, location was ok too, it's about a 5 minute walk from the centre of the town. All in all I'd stay again.

First, a really big thanks to Lidl for an amazing offer, we took the B&B, plus evening meal offer for 49.00 each, in our current climate it makes it possible to still have a little treat, we couldn't quite believe the price, it was the better than any other offers we have seen. We cannot fault our stay at the Carlton Tralee, a beautiful hotel, the room was lovely, the staff excellent and the dinner was just outstanding, there were 6 of us and none of us could find anything to complain about, which is unusual in a group like that. We thoroughly enjoyed our little break and if we get the chance to stay away again, we will definately use the Lidl Breaks website.

The hotel was excellent, staff, room, food. I would say however it is more than15 minutes walk to the town, we drove in rather than walk even though I would consider myself a good walker perhaps if I was in flat shoes rather than high it may have been better. This Lidl break was excellent value for money I hope the offer is continued I would definately use it again

The hotel was beautiful as you walked in, as were the rooms. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Went for dinner in the bar on the 1st night, great early bird value, but the service was extreamly slow, it took 20 mins to just take our order. But the food was fantastic. The room was spacious and comfortable. The water was not hot enough, I had to boil the kettle a few times to have a bath. Also, I think there should have been some complimentary water, as when we asked, the water from the tap was not drinkable. The breakfast buffet was good. Great selection. Overall the hotel was great and we had a lovely stay for very good value.

Mel, scored 5 / 5 on 31/10/2010

first of all it was very impressive to recieve the welcome letter/email. never recieved such a thing from any hotel or website beore having made many a hotel booking online. The hotel was very beautiful and modern. The staff throughout were helpful and friendly, although the bar seemed at times so busy with food orders that perhaps they could do with an extra pair of hands. We went into the town to eat the first night and after eating in the hotel bar the the second night, i actually regretted not having done so on both nights. The food was amazing, in taste and presentation. We got plenty of vegetables and potatoes too. My daughter who is a tad on the "fussy eater" side was so well catered for. she didn't want the usual kids menu stuff but fancied the steak, and the waiter was extremely helpful in assuring us it was no problem to have the steak and everything else on the side, he did exactly that. Breakfast was very good too, with all of us being totally satisfied. overall lidl breaks with this hotel was a very reasonble price. we enjoyed a fabulous stay and would definitely visit again.

The 4 star Carlton Hotel Tralee is well worth a visit and the rooms and the food are excellent. I had a wonderful 2 night stay thanks to the Lidl B&B + dinner for 49 Euro per person per night. The 2 course meal + tea or coffe was substantial and even though some people at my table ordered a third course the hotel did not charge. I definitely would stay in the Carlton again and possibly will book again before Christmas.

You can also get free Access to the Water Dome, Irelands largest indoor water leisure facility so don't forget you swimsuit... Fabulous hotel and I was soooo delighted to book through lidl breaks as it cut the cost by 25 %, so that was great to know, all in all would defo receommend lidl breaks and the Carlton in Tralee .. :)

We stayed in the Carlton Tralee for one night and we really enjoyed it. It is a lovely hotel and I would definitely recommend it. The meal that was included in the Lidl deal was delicious and it was 4 courses with tea or coffee. The rooms were a good size and comfortable and all the staff were very friendly.

The Carlton Hotel was a very nice hotel bedrooms were nice and the staff were very helpful but we were disappointed they had no music Irish or otherwise in the evenings which was greatly missed by us both and many of the other customers we talked to during our stay. As far as Lidl are concerned we thought the offer was great and we would take advantage of any other offer as it was great value for money. John Mahon

The Carlton, Tralee was first-class in style and the Lidl Breaks offer was first class value. Our room was spacious, comfortable and spotless. We were attending a wedding party and everything about the hotel and the event was fabulous. Vicki

Great accommodation, great location within walking distance of town and other attractions, excellent breakfast, friendly staff especially in the Restaurant - overall a great stay. Fantastic value for the price paid on the Lidlbreak site. Free access to the Aquadome water facility was also a bonus - don't use the gym here, however, the machines are not cleaned and all handles are greasy.

Top rating for the 4* Carlton Hotel in Tralee from us. Very clean and spacious room, the staff was always very friendly and courteous, enjoyable atmosphere in the lounge / bar area, free entry to the nearby AquaDome, delicious breakfast, plenty of parking space in front of the hotel and underground. We took the advice from a previous preview and went down for breakfast at around 9am, as it really got busy after 9.25am. Tralee town centre is in about 15 min walking distance. A superb hotel and excellent value for money. We will definitely book via Lidl-Breaks again soon.

The hotel itself is beautiful and the 4 star rating is well deserved in terms of accomadation, however I feel the hotel is let down by the food quality in the restaurant which I found to be bland and tastless although beautifully presented - the breakfast was first class, catering from continental to full Irish and as much as you could eat - The Lidl break deal is excellent value for money but if I were to do it again I think I would opt for B&B only.

We went with our 2 little girls aged 5yrs & 19 months & had a really great time. We go on a lot of breaks throughout Ireland with the girls & this is definately one of the nicest hotels we've stayed in by far. We didn't realise there was free entry to the Aquadome so that was a huge bonus! The staff were all lovely & couldn't have been more helpful. The food in both the bar & restaurant was very nice. The hotel is very tastefully decorated throughout & the rooms are quite spacious & have everything you need. Would definately recommend it to families or couples.

We had a very enjoyable stay at the Tralee Carlton. The Lidl price was remarkable good value. The hotel itself is very comfortable with spacious bedrooms. It is a 10 minute walk to Tralee Town centre and is close to the Aquadome.IIt is conveniently located for touring the Dingle peninsula. The hotel's sauna and steam room were at our disposal as was the fitness centre. The free entry to the Aquadome as a hotel guest was great. Breakfast time was very busy after 9.30 a.m. , but this could be overcome by having breakfast at 9.00- 9.15 a.m.

Family Breakaway for 2 nights midweek I found the hotel very clean, modern with good sized bedrooms. The staff were extremely approachable, helpful and very polite. If you stay here you receive free entrance into the Aquadome (great if you have kids). The location of this hotel is at least 20mins walk (without breaking out in a sweat) into Tralee town centre. The only problem i had with this hotel was the food. We ate in the bar for the first night and the restaurant on the second night, i found the choices very limited. I was very disappointed with the breakfast, its one thing i always look forward to when i am away is a cooked breakfast, but the food produce used was cheap and flavourless and mine was cold when i got it. The bread on the continental buffet was stale.
