Lovely hotel in great location, breakfast was great ????

Aisling scored 4 / 5 on 23/08/2020

Had a lovely stay here. It was nice to have tea and coffee making facilities in the room, which we weren't expecting due to Covid 19 restrictions. We had to book in for breakfast, which wasn't a problem and the staff were excellent. Our room was spacious and nicely decorated. The hotel doesn't have a car park, but they have a deal with Hynes Yard carpark and it costs €9 per night for the hotel rate. The hotel was really central, about 50 yards from Eyre Square. It is also really close to the train & bus station, so you have a choice of how to get there. We only ate dinner in the hotel one night, bit it was delicious. I recommend this hotel.

Really enjoyed our stay at your hotel. Staff very nice and everyone very aware of covid regulations . Very good breakfast also.

Monica scored 3 / 5 on 18/08/2020

The Victoria hotel is in a great location just off Eyre Square, parking can be had a reduced rate in Hynes Car Park. Tha staff are the hotel's greatest asset. Check in was very efficient, the rooms were clean and showed signs of continuing upgrades. The waiting staff were very accommodating with our requests and concerns about social distancing. The only niggle that I had was the behaviour of the chef who would not make a side salad when requested at dinner and was not 'doing' poached eggs for breakfast. I felt for the staff having to deliver these refusals. Otherwise I have no hesitation in recommending the Vitoria Hotel.

Caroline scored 4 / 5 on 16/08/2020

Great hotel right in Eyre sq ,very comfortable beds breakfast was lovely staff very friendly and Kieran the manager was very helpful ,Michael in the bar does great job under the circumstances with covid restrictions ,will book another stay

Denise scored 4 / 5 on 11/08/2020

Lovely hotel. Staff were super friendly and helpful. We chose breakfast in bed one morning as the breakfast slots were very early which was a great option to have. Felt like a super treat. One of the best breakfasts we have had at a hotel. Great location and super close to walk to anything. We even walked to Salthill which was a lovely walk and was great to leave the car parked. We will be back. Thank you

Hotel bar/restaurant is undergoing renovations and was closed. We had to go elsewhere for dinner, a pity when it would have been nice to have the full hotel experience

Jennette scored 5 / 5 on 17/07/2020

The hotel was carrying out some improvements and they contacted me to let me know immediately they moved me to their sister hotel and that was central also.

Myself and my boyfriend stayed here for one nite in december, i have to say from the outside you wouldnt know what to expect but when u go in it is really lovely, Really stylish and the bar was lovely and cosy, The rooms are also very nice very modern and cosy too, It is very central shopping centre just a couple of minutes away as it rained at lot when we were there and we were still able to enjoy shopping in the december sales, Also hotel is so central also a couple of minutes walk from the main pubs, all in all really enjoyed our stay at the victoria and will definitely be going back, Thankyou.

Peadar scored 3 / 5 on 24/11/2012

We enjoyed our one night stay very much in the Victoria Hotel. The breakfast was excellent and the staff were very friendly and looked after our needs. However we would have liked bar food as it was a very cold wet night and we had to go out for food. We are senior citizens and thats the reason we would have liked the comfort of eating in doors. Peadar & Anne Keeley. We would give it three stars.

Briege scored 4 / 5 on 17/07/2011

Rooms are cleaned on a daily bases, towel changed daily if required. Breakfast had a great choice eat as much or as little as you want. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Would highly recomend this hotel for a good and convienent base for staying in Galway City.

I found this stay to be great value for money, hotel is in perfect location, within walking distance to city centre. Car park is close by at %u20AC8 a day. Staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel is basic, but you get what pay for!

Unfortunately we never made it to Galway due to weather and bad roads but will definately try to go in the New Year instead. We have stayed in The Victoria Hotel a few times in the past and always have a great time, the location is so convenient and the staff are always lovely. As for Lidl Breaks value for money everybody we told about the bargain we got were very impressed we have recommended it to many of our friends. We will definately book through Lidl Breaks when we reschedule our trip in the New Year.

Edwinas scored 3 / 5 on 07/12/2010

The Victoria Hotel was much better than I expected, esp when I first saw the sign outside the door but once I stepped inside the decor was a lot better. The room was very spacious and clean. The dinner was nice, desert of chocolate fudge cake was by far the highlight of the evening. Staff friendly and welcoming. Good choice for breakfast, glad it was included in the offer as it seemed expensive otherwise. Great location for Galway shopping and nightlife. Would def stay here again.

Marie scored 5 / 5 on 01/12/2010

Myself and three girlfriends stayed in The Victoria Hotel,Galway for one night with Lidl Breaks. We found it to be exceptional value. The hotel was lovely, the staff were helpfull and friendly and good food too. Thanks Lidl Breaks,we'll be going again. Marie.

Richard scored 5 / 5 on 28/11/2010

The Victoria Its hard to give you a rating as I don't often frequent hotels, I would normally go for hostels.....better company and less likely to meet obsequeous zombies... Also much cheaper. Having said that, the staff of the Victoria were human and helpful, breakfast was good and the bar not overpriced. I missed a proper wi-fi service in the bedroom and was a little worried about the service that there was not having a pass-key. Value for money was pretty good, but the prices displayed in the rooms were extortionate, bad marketing to leave them there, echos of 'Rip Off Ireland'. Lidls Breaks This was the first that I have been on. It was enjoyable and got me a price that I doubt is easilly available otherwise. Booking procedures easy and straightforward. Thanks Richard Fensome

Niall scored 4 / 5 on 02/11/2010

Pros - Great Value, very central, clean comfortable rooms, great showers, friendly staff, nice breakfast. Cons - Hotel can be noisy at weekends but not to bad either. No car park so extra %u20AC8 a day to park the car close by.

Myself and my husband had a short break recently at the Victoria Hotel; All the staff were very pleasant and helpful especially the Reception Staff who sorted out a nice spacious quiet room for us in a professional and approachable manner. The bar staff were cheerful and friendly. The room was very clean and housekeeping was to a high standard, however, the services of a window cleaner would not go amiss. The breakfast was tasty and there was a good variety on offer. The location is ideal as it is within walking distance of all shops and facilities. Lidl breaks are great value for money and we hope to visit again in the near future. C&M Maguire

Victoria Hotel, Galway My husband & I had two very pleasant days recently in this hotel. We had dinner on one night and it was lovely. There is a lovely bar and the staff are excellent & v friendly. It is very clean and the bedroom cleaned each day, though it possibly could do with some new carpets in some areas. The only crib we had was that breakfast was advertised as ending at 11.00am..We duly arrived at 10.30. No breakfast...the notice had applied to Galway race week which had ended & notice should have been removed..Anyway, we got tea and toast in the lobby. Breakfast ends at 10.00 and I noted that everything is removed at 10.15. Other than that, a great location and would recommend it. Lidl breaks excellent value for money.
