Beautiful hotel, very helpful staff, very clean. Dinner in Bistro was gorgeous. Very disappointed with breakfast as the full irish was cold and the sausages had a very bad after taste.

I recently spent one night at the city west hotel in Dublin. While the water shortages were an issue in Dublin we did travel regardless!!!!!However, the following morning the fact that our shower did not work and the toilets didn't flush did not at all add to our enjoyment. Together with this, the fifth floor, where we were allocated rooms, was freezing. Our room itself was very cold and I failed to regulate the temperature even though there was a thermostat in the room Perhaps it didn't work. ? Also, the awful noise coming from the roof resulted in neither myself or my husband getting a wink of sleep for the entire night. I did phone reception but to no avail. One manager said it was a boiler, which I doubt and the following morning another manager stated it was part of the roof which had been blown about by the wind, All in all, it was a very uncomfortable experience. I would not look forward to going there again and certainly not sleeping on the fifth floor. A pity that this is my report on my first experience. If it was a good experience I would certainly report that too. Thank you.

We've stayed here a fair few times with lidl and this is the first time we were really disappointed The hotel is always busy and we always found this to be interesting once we could sleep at night We had no problems sleeping but one of the lifts going to our floor was broken for the weekend and we ended up walking up and down to the fourth floor all weekend We had room service on Friday night and it was lovely We went to the bar for a drink after having a shower and the service was terrible even though the bar wasn't that busy Breakfast was grand on Saturday but we chose to go to town that night after Friday nights experience in the bar Sunday morning breakfast was a total debacle The queue for the breakfast room was down the stairs We were eventually sent to the Hibernian Restaurant which couldn't cope with breakfast We had to go looking around used tables for portions of butter after waiting for ten minutes for staff to go upstairs to find some Ended up with cold breakfast cold tea and butterless toast No mention at checkout as to how our weekend was Rooms were good as usual but a disappointing stay overall

**** we stayed here for a concert in the Avivia stadium, found the hotel staff excellent, rooms were spotless with lovely toiletries provided. (brought my own but used theirs), food was lovely, had bistro food on the Friday evening, breakfast was very good and staff were lovely getting anything you needed without having to chase it, but hot foof was cool (had fry but too cool to eat) other than that brilliant and would definitely stay again, luas is only a few mins walk to stop, but city centre around half hour on the luas.

Room was lovely .. the hotel was exceptionally busy last weekend as there was an Irish Dancing competition being held. However, our room was nice and quiet. Breakfast was delicious - a good selection of fruits/cereals and fry up! The leisure centre was lovely .. warm swimming pool and seperate jacuzzi's etc in changing rooms - however, these are communal on weekends ..

We stayed in a superior room. The bed was huge, nice big bathroom and comfortable room. The staff mostly were very friendly (except for some of the breakfast waitresses). What I noticed though, is that there were a lot of little details were very poor. Broken toilet flusher, broken tiles, grouting all over the floor in the bathroom, tv not working properly, toilet paper like sandpaper, room too warm during the night and difficult to adjust, broken faucet on the sink. No WiFi in the room (2013 - seriously?). For breakfast you get plenty of choice, but the hot food is not great and tasteless. Overall you get the feeling they could do with paying more attention to detail, and stop cutting corners. Overall I would still recommend a stay here. The room was very reasonably priced and comfortable overall nice hotel.

We stayed here for 2 nights- it's a really lovely hotel, the staff are extremely friendly &helpful..citywest run a monster operation between multi conferences , hotel guests like ourselves, and not matter how busy it seemed, they had everything under control, I met my partner here 11 years ago, and which was really interesting to see was the majority of staff there were still the same- rooms were lovely and had everything we needed.. I would deffinitely recommend staying at Citywest Hotel.. It's also makes it extra nice when you get it at a great discount rate from the Lidle breaks..

Lovely hotel, very comfortable room. It was extremely busy on Saturday night but the staff were well able to look after everyone. We had food in the Bistro which was very good and breakfast was also great considering the number of people they were catering for. The hotel is only about 15 minutes from Dublin so its a very good location. Would definitely stay again.

Staff and hotel were nice. However, there was a surprise when we realised that the leisure centre is not unisex - men and women have separate areas.

Very friendly staff, stayed with my girlfriend for one night and will definitely be back to the CItywest resort if staying in the Dublin area again in the near future. Luas stop right beside the hotel so access to the city centre is very easy for a days excursion, so you can leave your car at the hotel. Highly recommendable hotel

My family and I were really looking forward to this break, and we were not disappointed, we went for mid-term there were lots of activities for the children to do and movies each night, with a lovely halloween feel, which the children really enjoyed, the hotel was near the Luas line, the children had never even been on a train, so this was another inexpensive treat. A pure delight and lovely break, will be booking next year with lidli breaks, fantastic value, have recommeded this to everyone I know and beyond. Thanks again Jackie from Achill Island

What a beautiful hotel..i don't think i have ever stayed in a hotel where the staff were so friendly and i mean every single person we came in contact with were so friendly, nice and helpful. The rooms were grand and spacious and spotless. The food was lovely, only down side was the price of drink but i suppose it's the same all over dublin

Newuser2012 scored 4 / 5 on 31/10/2012

Great night stayed at the Citywest Hotel. It is a busy hotel but it did not disrupt our stay. When we arrived we were upgraded to another room and it was lovely. Newly decorated and very big. Ideal as we had a travel cot for our son in the room. He was undisturbed with the TV. It is a big hotel and our room was a good walk from reception but that did not bother us, as we knew that we would not be disturbed late into the night. Breakfast can be busy, we got there just in time so did not have to queue but others did have. A nice selection and good quality. The restaurant was nice, we did not have reservations but were seated straight away. The only downsides I would see to this hotel are - the pool is VERY busy andI had booked it on the basis of WIFI in the hotel. WIFI is only in the public areas. Would return and great value for money.

i stayed here on the 8th and 9th of october 2012 with my wife and 2 children, the kids enjoyed their stay with a games room and leisure area with a swimming pool keeping them busy.a game of golf on the on site golf course went down very well also.eating at the restaurant is amost, and afterwards washing down the food with a nice pint of Guinness in the Bar,this goes down a treat, the breakfast service in the morning is one to look forward too, with the staff greeting you with a warm welcome the hotel is only a 5 minute walk to the nearest Luas station that takes you right into the heart of Dublin,we have stayed here on a few occasions and will continue to do so in the near future.

My family and I have stayed here on two occasions through Lidl Breaks and we have found this hotel to be very good. We have three children and have stayed in their family room, which was very spacious. The hotel is child friendly and has a fabulous leisure centre, which is clean and bright. The pool is really nice and a lovely temperature. The food in the hotel is mediocre, but we only ate breakfast there the second time around. I would recommend this hotel to families going up to Dublin on weekend trips.

We booked this hotel for two friends who were badly in need of a break. They were delighted with the accommodation and the food was excellent. They also spoke highly of the staff who were very helpful to them. They would highly recommend it to their friends and would give it a higher rating than 5* above. D Walsh

Gorgeous hotel on the outskirts of Dublin, golf club, pool, gym, it's got everything. Rooms are lovely. Staff are fab. 10 minutes walk to the Luas Redline was perfect for us to get to a concert in the O2 Arena and back, and it was on the Cork side of Dublin for our journey home. Will definitely stay there again.

Hi stayed in the city west for only one night. The rooms are very big but they were not that clean the bed linen was stained so were the pillow cases , there was sweets stuck into the floor. Dont get me wrong everything else was lovely the grounds were beautiful. The breakfast was fab lots of everything and as much as you want . There was only one other thing that bothered me was they said the lus was only 5 min walk more like 10-15 and i would not advise any women to do it on there own as it is a very dark walk.

Am scored 4 / 5 on 25/08/2012

stayed here for a couple of days relaxation , my room was beautiful, though i had to walk nearly amile of corriedor to reach it, however it was well worth the walk it was a beautifully decorated superior room in a quiet paart of the hotel, perfect for a guest wanting peace and quiet yes, it was holiday time and there were alot of children ate in the hotel reataurnat the first night but found it very busy and child friendly the second ight i booked a table at Lemongrass,on the hotel gounds 2 minutes walk. i had a beautiful meal, child free and the staff were very attentive and the food and wine was great. will be back again would reccomend this hotel, but not at busy periods.

Room and Staff lovely, accommodated all 5 in one room which was great. Swimming and play room was good fun for the kids. Check out is a little early at 11am when trying to fit in a quick swim before leaving. Would recommend it to anyone. Only downfall could do with air conditioning but then I guess you pay a lot more for that, and they do have some. would stay again

Hiya! The hotel itself is fab. It's lovely how it is right on the outskirts of Dublin but the luas can be got the whole way in to O' Connell street and back. The food is also lovely for both dinner and breakfast. . The only thing i can complain about is it was so warm in the rooms. I wonder would it cost much to set up a van in the rooms also we were not able to leave on a night lilght for my son without leaving on the big light near the bathroom as they were all connected. Would still stay there again though, it was so conveinet.

Ellen scored 1 / 5 on 11/07/2012

Very poor, would NOT recommend this hotel for a relaxing break. If you are attending an event here, you would be best to book into a hotel nearby. You would get more sleep in Hueston station and the bathroom facility's are probably better.

Margaret scored 3 / 5 on 10/07/2012

The hotel was nice and the staff extremely friendly. However, on the weekend we were there the rooms were unbearably warm making it difficult to sleep especially when we had small children with us.

Stayed here for the handball competition, Easy to find. Excellent set up in sports arena. Rooms lovely except for the constant hummm ( boiler or air conditioner units) outside the window. Carvery excellent and reasonably priced, Breakfast also excellent except on the last day asked 3 members of staff for a pot of tea-the first told me sit down, the second said ok and the third just looked at me. Waited 20 minutes, still no tea!!! Otherwise I would recommend this hotel highly. Written by Handball Fan

We had a fantastic stay - staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely. However one comment, a courtesy car would have been fantastic to get to and from luas stop. I am sure it is lovely when weather good and a nice walk but late at night when it is cold is a different story. Also we had two family rooms...one was loveley but other was on 5th floor and the noise from the air conditioning unt above the room was incredibly loud. we booked through today fm breaks and the deal was fantastic value.

Thanks, Citywest, we had a wonderful stay, although it was short and sweet (1 night), don't worry, we'll be back. Loved the swimming pool and jacuzzi area. The bedroom was lovely, bit of a trek to get there but worth it! Dining room was a bit dreary but food was really good. Tks

Enjoyed our stay over a very busy Dublin weekend with Bloom, formula l car racing and the Mini Marthon. For such a large hotel everything seemed to run smoothly. The check in was quick and efficient and everyone most helpful. Although very busy the breakfast was efficient and no waiting and the dinner was tasty and again no waiting. The room was lovely with really comfortable beds and quite soundproof Very luxurious. Only one comment the website said only 2o mins from Dublin city centre. We went by ;public transport and it took a lot longer nearly 1hr and 10 mins. Probably not a problem if you go by car and maybe a quieter time!

Hotel is lovely. We attended the Irish National Dancing Championships so the hotel was very busy. We checked in on the Thursday eve and staff were very efficient but lacked a little personality. The room was on the 3rd floor and we had to walk for ages to get to it once we got off the lift. THe room itself was quite spacious and the bathroom was spotless. There carpet on the floor needs to be changed - there was a big black stain on the foor which took from the room and could have done with a good hovering. Our TV was not working - we rang reception at 9.00pm and was told somebody would be up to fix it in 5 mins - still havent seen the repair man yet - i spoke to reception every day we stayed there and no one came to fix it - I was not amused considering i had an 11 year old me!!. Breakfast was very good considering they had 1400 people for breakfast on Friday morning. Hotel well able to cope with the crowd. We ate in the bistro - Service was slow but food was good. I had to change room key on Saturday and was told i had not paid for my rooms even though i had my receipt and had paid upfront when checked in. Was not impressed but overall we enjoyed our stay there.

Glenn scored 4 / 5 on 11/05/2012

We spent two nights at the hotel for a mid-week family break. The reception area was well staffed so check-in was speedy. Despite booking a Family room the room itself was a double room, this was clear because the room had two fixed headboards the room and the third bed was sort of shoved into the corner! So for a family room it was quite small, for a double room it was large. On arrival we had to call housekeeping as there was crushed biscuit on the carpet, obviously housekeeping didn't do a thorough clean because once the beds were moved around to accommodate the extra bed we found it. Anyway it was sorted out straight away. Cleanliness overall however was of a high standard. We ate in the bistro one evening and it was fine, portions were a bit small but food was tasty. Service was also very good in the bistro, the waiter was pleasant and efficient. The Guinness was excellent too, which can't always be said for hotels unfortunately. The leisure centre was very good, lovely pool and well maintained facilities. It was nice and quiet too during the day, the kids loved it. On the second night we ate at the Lemongrass restaurant, excellent food. In summary we enjoyed our time at the hotel and given the price we paid for a 2 night mid-week stay we would definitely consider returning in the future.

Arrived at hotel before 11am and was able to check in immediate as our room was ready - check in was quick & efficient and the receptionist was very nice and pleasant advising of restaurants, breakfast times etc. We booked a family room which was a good size with one double and two single beds, tea/coffee facilities etc very comfortable throughout. Breakfast was buffet style which was great and checkout next morning was express which was extremely handy. Overall very impressed and will return for another visit.

A massive hotel (750 plus rooms) but it copes well We stayed whilst dance competitions, weddings, golf and a Star Wars convention was on (around the the May4th, yes) Family rooms were a good size and clean, food was good (service struggled at times though) but reception and especially the concierge, were excellent. One tip - the Luas tram line is a 15 minute walk from the hotel lobby, so whilst it is the best way to get to Dublin Centre (45 mins) it is not 'right there' as it infers

The City West is a beautiful hotel set in a great location, The food is excellent, the staff very friendly and attentitive. The rooms are well looked after and are very comfortable. The food in the Bistro was first class and waiting staff very good. My only fault with this beautiful hotel was at reception the male receptionist was not at all friendly or helpful he seemed to be uninterested in any cutomers there on a value break, there was a mix up on our reservation, a fault on the part of the hotel, he said we were not registered, luckly I had brought my print out when I had bboked through celtic breaks, he became very dismissive and asked another member of staff to deal with us, found this very embarrsing as this stay had been a birthday present for my husband. We got our room but no apology for his bad manner. I emailed the hotel since then and passed on my findings. So my advice is to always bring your booking confirmation. We have often used celticmediabreaks and this has never happened to us before.

This hotel was terrible. It is very run down. It is very large and noisy with people making noise in the middle of the night (6am) apparently intoxicated. This kept us and our child awake. Our TV was broken in our room but to be fair a guy came quickly to repair it. Breakfast was very poor with rooms packed with people, food was 2 star quality. Not enough staff. Pool was passable for a 4yr old to enjoy. We would never dream of staying here again and would not recommend it

Virginia scored 4 / 5 on 18/04/2012

Really nice hotel. Beds very comfortable and had a great sleep. However, hotel says that Luas is at the gate - this is misleading. There is a long avenue to get to the gate and then it is a further 5-10 minute walk. This is fine if you aren't in a rush. Didn't like breakfast and felt that we were in the way - we were 15mins before the end of breakfast but we felt that we had been late.

Tracey scored 5 / 5 on 16/04/2012

Grounds were lovely, ideally situated for stay in Dublin without the hassles of the city, yet very easily accessable to city via the Luas near the hotel. Very happy with rooms, food, service etc. Definitely recommend Lime Beauty Rooms! Would definitely stay again

The only good things about this hotel are the swimming pool and jimmy Fitzgerald who works in the breakfast room. When I booked the hotel and saw it was a country house hotel I thought it would be a nice quiet hotel with plenty of areas outside to relax with the kids. I couldn't have been more wrong. The hotel was huge and with 774 rooms it was packed. The noise in the public areas was incredible and more like grand central station then a country house hotel. When I asked where we could go for a walk with the children we were told there was only a gravel covered car park we could use. All the green areas around the hotel were the golf course. On the Saturday morning we had a nice breakfast and we're greeted at the door by jimmy Fitzgerald who really was the only staff member who wanted guests to feel welcome. The other staff were on a "get them in, get them out" mode. On Sunday morning at 4am we were awoken by people shouting in the corridors. I phoned to deception and it took two calls for them to send up someone. The noise went on for nearly an hour. Finally at 5am we got back asleep. As we had to leave early on the Sunday morning I requested a wake up call for 7am. As the clocks were going forward I felt that I couldn't trust my phone alarm. we never received our wake up call and slept in till 8am. This made us very late. Again it was jimmy Fitzgerald who came to our aid. He helped organise a take away breakfast for the kids so that we could get on the road asap. I would not recommend this hotel if you are looking for a nice relaxing break.

We had a very enjoyable weekend in Dublin. Citywest hotel has a fantastc leisure centre offering separate jacussi, sauna and steam rooms for male and females. The centre was clean, pool warm and had 2 swimming lanes. The food was good and the serving staff were friendly and efficient. If I had any complaints it would be the bar area on Saturday night was noisy and had a group of unruly individuals occuping an area in it. Bouncers could be seen walking around. It would be better if a smoking area was available to clients away from the front door of the hotel. Overall we had a nice time and it was great value for a 2 night stay. ***

Stayed overnight in this hotel in March 2012 - the room was nice and spacious but more importantly it was clean, as was the bathroom. There was never a lack of staff in the bar however the prices were quite steep. The staff in the Bistro couldn't have been any more helpful if they'd tried and were very friendly. Good stay overall, and will definately use the hotel again, however I would most likely go elsewhere for a few drinks and return to the hotel to sleep or eat only.

Top Class. Treated very well. Don't let the 'special price' put you off (we thought we might not get the best available room) but I must say everything was fabulous and the room was a big as a house. The new wing is a bit of a trot but oh my, it is smashing. Thank you Lidl, the price on the hotel website was 126 for the same booking!

I thought this hotel was very well run. From check in to check out any queries or requests were flawlessly handled. Staff were friendly and helpful at every turn. Facilities were excellent and the room was very comfortable with everything you need. Even an iron (I didn't use!) the pool was very nice and clean but can get busy as it's used by people from the area too. The breakfast was second to none with a pleasant team of staff you felt very well looked after. My only criticism was the lunch menu was very limited. It was only sandwiches or scones. If you wanted hot food or soup etc ypu had to go to the bistro which I don't think opened till 3 or so. My fiancé and I went here for a break before the birth of our first child and as a heavily pregnant woman needed more sustenance throughout the day than the lunch menu on offer! But we had a great time it was well located for us as we didn't want to be too far from the city but it's just far enough and on lovely grounds that you feel you're far away. I would go back. The luas nearby is very handy and runs regular also.

Very good hotel and excellent bistro, breakfast, gym and golf facilities - BUT the guests were a bit noisy (not much the hotel can do about that) - This is a very big hotel, and your room could be a long way from reception. We asked for a quiet room away from lifts and were upgraded to a suite which was roomy with a huge double bed and seemed quiet early on. However, there was a lot of 'traffic' in the hallway well into the night - at 3am some wally walked down the corridor and let out a roar every 10 seconds while his pals shouted shut up- (there was a poker competition in the hotel so he must have been celebrating!). When they got to their room down the hall, a short fight broke out! After a minute of banging and crashing it all settled down and we finally got some sleep. Other than that, my wife and I had an excellent 3 course meal with coffee in the bistro that evening (worth €60 if we were paying the menu price), and had free use of the huge gym the following morning and a fine hot or cold buffet for breakfast. Excellent value for a dinner B&B break!

Celebrated our daughter's 13th birthday on the 10th.We enjoyed the pool, sauna and kids loved the swimsuit dryer.Don't forget to bring your own lock for the lockers and pool is open until 6pm only.We had a lovely dinner that evening (just pay 10.50 extra for the kids meal with drinks and dessert). The family room was huge with a double bed and 2 single beds.Breakfast was very good as well and was free for the kids. Checking out was easy only took me a minute because we paid at check in.Would love to go back with kids for a golf weekend break.

Great Value Break, Hotel was comfortable and clean and the food in the bistro was very good. However the hotel is very big and was busy so it was noisy particularly late at night as we were trying to get some sleep! If you are looking for a one night meeting place with friends to have a few drinks it is perfect.

We had a wonderful time at this hotel. We ate in the Bistro and the food and service was first class. We found the reception staff and bar staff to be very helpful too. So on the whole I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a nice relaxing break.

Every year we have a family gettogether and we chose a Lidl break at Citywest hotel We enjoyed our stay, hotel and staff lovely, food very good and with eighteen of us there we had a great time. Very over crowded in public areas due to the Kick Boxing championships being on but the crowd were friendly and loved showing off their medals and cups. Only fault our room had no remote control for tv so could not listen to radio or watch. Not really a problem. There was no shampoo or condition in the bathroom either. But I would certainly stay at Citywest again.

Room was very large and clean and comfortable.Good quality furnature and a top of the range King size bed by King Koil. All in all a great experience with a large parking area and only a 5 minute walk from Saggart, the final stop on yhe Luas. We will be back.

I had booked a 2 night stay at City West Hotel in a family room and when I printed out my voucher it said I was to have a 2 course dinner with tea or coffee on both nights and that I only had to pay for kids meals which I had no problem with but on checking in I was informed I was only entitled to 1 nights dinner.I informed the receptionist I was to recieve dinner on both nights but she said no.Unfortunately I had left the printed voucher at home, which I have since checked to find I was entitled to dinner on both nights.Very disappointed as this would have been 1 of the reasons I took a whole weekend away with my family as I knew food costs would be well covered.Other than that staff were fantastic and we enjoyed our stay.

Enjoyed stay in CityWest Hotel...Room Lovely....Food Lovely...Great Value with Lidl Break.CityWest Hotel is a very big hotel and therefore very busy if looking for a quiet relaxing staay wouldnt recommend...When we were having dinner it was extremely busy and at the time lots of kids one in particular racing around up and down by our table..i know this wasnt the staffs fault but maybe for the comfort of other guests that staff might just ask parents in question to do something..enjoyed the night but dont think i would go back again..

We had a family get together recently and once we came in the door I knew I had booked the right hotel for the event. The lobby area is absolutely fabulous and the elegant stairs ! Enjoyed every bit of it - The room was huge and fit for a king and the food in the Bistro was devine. The pint wasn't expensive either as you might imagine for a hotel with such ambiance. - The Carrolls will be back ... we didn't have a go in the Pool!

We were pleased with our room and welcome at reception. The breakfast was standard, a bigger selection of Fresh fruit would be welcome. Dinner: food was good but when staying for three nights the menu was predictable and the special of the evening was repeated on two nights. The Luas is about a 10 minute walk, which is ok in fine weather but in the rain could be unpleasant - no courtesy bus. At night the Luas would not be a good option especially for unaccpmpanied females. We would stay there again.

The room was spacious, clean, comfortable, quiet and airy.Staff are nice and very helpfull, The food was good too - more fruit wouldnt go astray at breakfast though. I also had dinner there which we were very happy with - tasty and a good choice. Overall very good value - the luas is just a 7min walk away and just takes 40min into the city centre. Will definately stay again. Highly Recommended.

My husband and I had an overnight stay here after a wedding. The hotel is very large. I found all the staff friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and appeared well maintained. The bedroom was a good size and well away from the celebrations and as we didn`t want to stay up all night the room was quiet when left to get some sleep. The food was very good, only a small matter of the vol au vent starter being a bit dry. Everyone at our table enjoyed the soup which I thought very tasty. My beef main was good it was enough so that no appetite would go hungry, the vegetables were well cooked. I enjoyed the assiete of desserts but some people were too full to finish them. I`m not sure if we were running late but the waitresses could hardly wait for the napkins to be put on the table before they were whisked away, in fact my husband was surprised when his was taken from his hand. Breakfast the next morning was fine with a good selection no porridge but they had baked beans which I like. The worst thing about iit was the room which reminde me of a works canteen and was not up to the standard of the other hotel rooms I had been in, The swimming pool was very good l,arge for a hotel pool, hats as usually required in Ireland. It was bright and airy. I do not know how easy it would be to get into Dublin from here. I was told the luas was just 5 mins. walk away.Im sure it would have taken me longer than that to get to the hotel gates.

We stayed for one night and the Hotel was definitely very good value for the price. The complex is Hugh and exceptionally well laid out, the room was big and airy and very comfortable, Its not far from Dublin City Center but you would not know it as its a very quite complex. The Luas is just across the road with easy access to Dublin City Center. My only complaint would be that the breakfast was not great. There was very little choice in fruit and the fry was nothing to write home about. Having said that I would definitely go hear again.

Maurice scored 3 / 5 on 12/08/2011

Lovely hotel and family room was spacious. Location was ideal as Luas is now extended to Saggart which is within walking distance of hotel so no worries about taking car into Dublin city centre. Only gripe was with service which was slow. We had a long wait to check in, for each course of food to be brought out in the restaurant and a delay in checking out also. The staff seemed to have a big problem with processing the correct balance due with the lidl break booking. I’ve booked another hotel before through lidl breaks and didn’t have any such problems with settling up.

Liny scored 5 / 5 on 09/08/2011

we have stayed in citywest a few times and so far, we hadn't encountered problems though recently, while checking in, we find the asian receptionist not friendly and not approachable when, in fact, she was dealing with fellow asians. we just have to understand that maybe, she was not in good mood or it's just her personality. but still, she is a receptionist and she has to be friendly and approachable, in any circustances, with any guests of the hotel. also, we request the hotel's maintenance dept. to have a regular check on room facilities like irons, kettles, etc... STILL, WE HAD A LOVELY TIME IN THE HOTEL. INSPITE OF THE ENCOUNTERED (BIT) PROBLEM, WE WILL STAY AGAIN IN CITYWEST

We waited over half an hour to check in as there was 2 people greeting guests and 2 other people at desk doing "other things". We were not told the hours of the Leisure centre even though be asked where it was. With the slow check in and length of time it took to get to our rooms it was 5:45 when we got to Leisure centre. We have 3 young children all dressed in their swimming gear and with the pool in sight we were told it closed at 6 on Saturdays and Sundays and we were not allowed in. Our children did not take this well. On the plus side we were there to celebrate my Dad's 70th birthday and we had a lovely meal with excellent service which ended with a lovely cake which went down well. Breakfast was fine and check-out efficient.

Have stayed in lots of hotels with the children, this was my least favourite. Big mix up on arrival, given a room with double bed for a family of 5...Took some time to sort out and move room by which time the swimming pool was closed, at 6 o clock on a saturday...in a hotel,..I found this ridiculus, kids v disapointed. Lots of teenagers, older kids roaming around up to mischief. The family room was exteremly small could barely fit a cot. The curtains were way too small so let in light which actually didnt matter as we were woken In the morning at 6.50 ,the corridor was full of screming kids, crying, laughing ,running, shouting & it never stopped. The staff however were very nice and the food in the restaurant lovely. As I have said we have stayed in Hotels all over Ireland and always enjoyed our stay. Lidl breaks great but I would not recomend this hotel for families.

Hi stayed here Saturday night on a b&b&dinner break It was a bit slow booking in cos a wedding party booked in at the same time The moral of that is to come earlier if you can The receptionist was a bit flustered but extremely nice and welcoming By the time we went for a swim at 5.30pm the pool was almost closed We went for dinner and though the service was slow the food was good and the staff were lovely Nice entertainment in the bar Saturday night really enjoyed it Our room was nice and comfortable and we didn't hear a word after we went to bed Breakfast was also good with again excellent staff so friendly and homey The receptionist that booked us out was again extremely nice The hotel should be very proud of its staff we have stayed here numerous times and they are always great We'll definitely go again and it well be better when the LUAS starts up

Long past its former glory as a top resort hotel, it's now a 3 star value venue.Food was very good, rooms are dated but adequate, no fridge, safe, air con, funereal dark furniture, domestic bathroom fittings, no shelf or vanity unit to put your toiletries on. Great shower unit, and a glass panel not a curtain. The room doors are not well fitting, and the corridor noise booms into your room, Wedding drunks, AM arriving tourists, parties of more than 2 people who seem to think its OK to conduct loud conversation in the corridor at 4.30 am. Theres no point if you can't get a nights sleep, and I was too tired to try out the very fine leisure centre the next day. Perfect if you intend getting buckled with a large group of friends, not suitable for quiet couples or catching an early flight.

We have just stayed in the CityWest for the Bank Hol Weekend, which we booked through Lidl-breaks. We are 2 adult and 2 kids and its costs 140 for 2 nights b&b. This was extremely good value for this hotel. the room had 1 double bed and 2 singles, nice bathroom, very quiet at night. The leisure centre was fantastic. We spent both mornings swimming. The staff were friendly and effiicent. Lovely areas downstairs for lounging around. We have told several people about this deal and given this website address to them, as they cant believe the value and couldnt believe it included the CityWest. Will be going again! High Recommend. The only think which was very disappointing was that I was told the swimming pool closed at 6pm on the Saturday evening by the reception in hotel, but when we arrived at the leisure center at 5.30 they said it was too late they were closing, the children were most upset.

I booked an overnight for four people, two double rooms. Our friends live in south Dublin and we live in north Dublin. Whenever we decide to meet for a meal it involves finding a city centre restaurant, travelling by taxi etc. City West turned out to be a brilliant choice. We got bed, breakfast and a lovely evening meal all for %u20AC99 per couple. No taxis no stress and no time pressure. There was music in the bar and the staff couldn't have been friendlier. Booking through the Lidl website was a doddle. It only required a small deposit paid by credit card and the balance was paid on arrival. I'm only sorry we didn't have more time, perhaps for a round of golf. City West has it all.

We stayed here recently on a Lidl break and it was very nice - the staff all round were very nice - the receptionist the waiters/waitresses in the restuarant and also the bar staff! The room was very clean and the beds were the most comfortable I stayed in in a long time. There was a great atmosphere around the hotel - We had a meal in the Bistro where the food was excellent and very well presented and great service. The entertainment in the bar afterwards was very good. Overall we had a pleasant stay - really enjoyed it and would highly recommend it - Great value for money and would definately go back!!!

We recently stayed here using the LIDL breaks. It was our first time staying at this hotel. It was one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. The room was perfect. The food on the dinner menu was excellent. It was tasty and very well presented. The pool was nice. The only negative thing I have to say is that during the week the jacuzzi is single sex only. As we are a couple we would prefer this was not so. In the restaurant our waitress was excellent and looked after us very well. when she did not have the wine we wanted she gave us a slightly more expensive wine at no extra cost. We will definitely be back to stay here again.

We stayed here on St Patrick's Day it was a last minute booking and when we arrived ther receptionist had no recollection of our booking. She basically told us tough!!! She said lidl breaks were iff and they had rooms available and we could book at a new rate!!! Then another girl arrived who was very accomadating and after 20 minutes standing in reception she upgraded us to a superior room!!! The room was fine but we had the worse nights sleep ever the bed was so uncomfortable. Thought there would have been music in the hotel but it was very quiet with no atmosphere. breakfast was fine and staff were friendly. Apart from the rude receptionist who wasnt going out of her way to help!! Wont be rushing back!!!!

We really enjoyed our stay in the Citywest. On arrival the hotel was buzzing with activity. We noticed straight away that it was very family orientated and with two young children we were delighted. We were very impressed with the service and quality of the food iin the hotel, and the staff were great with the children. The leisure centre was fantastic, and the rooms were clean and spacious. The only downside was that we had to wait one hour before our room was ready and the noise from the function downstairs ( boxing tournament) could be heard in our room. All in all we had a lovely break and would definately use the Citywest again.
